The Genius of Charlie Chaplin

If you tell me that a Charlie Chaplin silent movie is about to come on AMC or another channel that shows old flicks, I will set aside time, stop what I'm doing and plop my busy self down for an hour or so to absorb myself in much needed laughter.  That's good for the soul, you know.

Charlie Chaplin was a true genius. If ever there was an individual fulfilling a calling, it was him.  He was born into poverty in England, started performing on stage at a very young age. Later on he formed United Artists studio in Hollywood.
He was born in 1889. At the age of five he would be hustled out onto the stage to replace is mother when she sang because her voice would crack. He began acting at the age of eight. Charlie made numerous silent films. 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of his iconic film "The Tramp." I am reminded of the talent portrayed in that film as well as the comedic nature of it as well.
He was married four times and had eleven children. His life was full of scandal and controversy. He finally moved to Switzerland and died there on Christmas Day in 1977. The controversy continued after his death. His body was stolen from the grave and was not recovered for three months. Later he was encased in cement to prevent that from occurring again.
Talented and gifted people fascinate me and there are many. Charlie Chaplin is only one. For more info on this talented silent screen icon go to www.charliechaplin.com.

A thought for the day:  The future belongs to only who live full today, tomorrow will take care of itself.
